The electrifying or nauseating smell of a concert - let’s talk about it.
“we finna be in the pitttt”
The smell of concerts. It’s said to be the smell of adrenaline in the air. But let’s be real: it’s BO (body odour). So many people talk about how concerts are the most memorable thing but to me - imma be real it’s the smell. And I’m going to talk about it
As an avid concert lover (concerts yes but festivals, hell NAH) I have attended many concerts from a various different ranges of prices, crowds, and ages. However, The concert last night in particular stood out to me. I attended the Ken Carson chaos tour and it most deffo was chaos in the nostrils.

y’all do you see that shininess and sheen on the floor? That was a cocktail of alcohol, sweat and water (and maybe other bodily fluids) mixed together. The only thing that was keeping me going was my scent combo for the night which was NR l’air du temps and the new Kashmir from Ormonde Jayne. Whilst I stood at the back because I didn’t want to meet my creator from the deadly mosh pits of rage driven teenage men, I was fortunate enough to still experience some of the smells involved. Ewww lol.
The classic concert combo consists of: the smell of Mary Jane (ouidd )🍃being puffed sporadically throughout various parts of the crows, a sprinkle of blue raspberry or strawberry ice vaypes being inhaled and exhaled, the faint whiff of a very lavender heavy accord fragrance (typically contained in a lot of men’s colognes/aftershaves/fragrances) and the occasional sniffing of Ariana grande cloud or some variation of the sort. OHHHH and let’s not forget the smell of armpit juice every 2 meters. In theory this may sound fawked up (sniffing wise) but it’s actually what makes concerts so memorable and low-key ? I rate it. It sets the ambiance and maybe that is the adrenaline of the evening.

Of course if we are talking about technicalities - concerts actually do smell. The use of the smoke liquid from pyrotechnics is an unforgettable smell. It smells like a wood less fire and cold. I have experience of using it when I was a backstage helper in a stage production for Narnia back in high school. The smell of the bar that serves drinks, and the venue itself has a smell. It’s just more fun to focus more on dramatic things tho.
Overall the smell of adrenaline from concerts could have a smell and maybe I even have smelt it but I’ll never know what it is. I guess I’ll have to keep going to concerts to smell it’s electrifying or nauseating smell. Trial and error - works best!
