Feng Shui and perfume…a lethal combination?
The harmonist fragrance brand displaying the art of traditional practises.
The harmonist is all over tiktok. I even remember when I started my tiktok back at the end of 2020 and it somehow made it’s way on my FYP. It was always there in the background just waiting to be sniffed. Well…. I finally had the opportunity this week to sniff it and BOIII I’m impressed. Okay let’s start off with pics:

Okay this is where the fun starts: after nervously giving my greeting kisses to everyone within the room, I sat down and started to video. As I was trying to get my content for insta and tiktok I kept seeing two motifs of colour just randomly pop up in my video camera which was the colours black and white. I later had learnt that it was to reflect “yin and Yang: two compounds to give balance and harmony within the world. I’m gonna be honest I hadn’t read much about the brand I just thought I’d go off vibes LOL.
After I had swept the room literally photographing anything and everything, the talk had started. The beautiful Lola Tillyeva (who was literally the embodiment of beauty and grace) started to describe the brand. It all started when she had the idea to mix the philosophy of feng shui and “haute perfumery”.
Ok let’s be real…. I know what ur thinking…."Does it really work?” - don’t worry I will answer that question for you. Relax.
She worked closely with the perfume Guillame Flavigny from Givaudan is what I gathered from the discussions from Clara - the in house “feng shui” specialist
It was so interesting to hear the specialist whilst inhaling my breakfast, sniffing the blotter and trying to guess my element. The elements were as followed: Water (tranquility), Metal (clarity), Earth (stable and grounded), fire (passion) and wood (creativity). One of the stories from breakfast that I really remember behind the scents is moon glory which is funnily enough, the most popular scent.
Moon glory is very much within its feminine energy, imagine if the water from the H20 mermaids moon pool was fragranced? Yeah I’d pretty much say it’s this. It’s really intoxicating, it’s a warm silky femme fatale. A sniper from the side.
You can tell (if you ever get a chance to sniff) and I could tell that this was made well. No harsh stand out notes. Everything was blended stupendously like the way oil pastels just merge together. But gawd this stuff was strong - I’m not surprised tbh with a concentration reaching 25-36%. In the picture above is just some of the raw materials contained within moon glory, one of the main accords is a honey accord but of several types that balanced extremely well on the vanilla and ylang ylang. So imma be real for a vanilla hater - I acctually kinda like this😭
The harmonist actually have a “find your element” feature on their webpage where it tells you what feng-shui you are in based upon your birthday, name and location of birth etc. I got Yang metal and apparently they’re bold, direct and confident, so In turn, I got matched with water fragrances as the feng-shui specialist told me water gives metal power????? I was confusion but it was cool! It actually worked out well as one of my favourites, that I had a chance to sniff - was sacred water! It was reminiscent of aqua kiss from Victoria’s Secret but just finely tuned and an added overdoes of coconut. It definitely gave me a nostalgic feeling. So yeah I guess it does work😭?
Overall I’m really sorry if you read this through to the end - I’m a terrible writer I know but idc Im trying my best LOL. Harmonist really did devour and I’m impressed. A really innovative concept that is lacking currently within the industry as a whole that is becoming similar to fast fashion of what will be the next trending fragrance. I have definitely found my water ( tranquility and reflectiveness)
